Hi, everyone,
I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with
updating the website this year, but we have been going through some major transitions
and I just wasn't sure what was going to happen this year.
Thankfully, it looks like we will be open
on time, starting with the cherries, then raspberries, then apricots (dates yet to be determined.) The cherries are loaded and the raspberries are just covered with blossoms. The blackberries are incredibly loaded with blossoms. Even the apricots look good. The tomatoes are growing nicely.
We lost some of our good, experienced help last fall, so we may not be able to offer as much variety as far as vegetables are concerned, and they will be later than usual .
We also had a lot of trouble with our machinery, and we finally found a good mechanic, but with all the delays finding the parts that were needed, we were late getting the vegetables planted. We also had to plant through some of the plastic mulch that we used last year because we couldn't remove the old mulch for various reasons, and in order to use last year's mulch, we had to weed every single hole by hand before we replanted. What a nightmare!
Francis is almost completely disabled now, so we have to deal with that situation too.
I am so proud of Kenny (our son). I have never seen him work so hard and be so determined to make this farm succeed as he has this year.
Thank you for your patience.
Joyce and Kenny
